Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is Snapper?
Snapper is an on-demand transportation option serving Safety Harbor and parts of Clearwater. The service is designed to help you connect to PSTA bus service, either as the first leg of your trip or the final leg of your trip between PSTA transfer centers at Park Street Terminal and Countryside Mall.
2. Will I be sharing my ride?
Possibly, yes. Snapper operates in smaller buses that seat multiple riders, so your ride may be grouped with other passengers headed to the same destination or somewhere nearby.
3. How much does it cost?
Snapper follows the same fare structure as PSTA buses. Most riders will pay $2.25; seniors, disabled passengers, and students pay $1.10 with proper ID.
4. How do I pay?
You can pre-pay for your ride when booking, or pay onboard with any tap-enabled credit card, debit card, Flamingo Fares card, or cash. If you want to pay onboard the vehicle, select "Cash" when booking regardless of your final payment method.
5. How do I book a Snapper? What information do I need to provide?
The easiest way to book a Snapper is visiting grouper.psta.net or downloading the Grouper app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You will only need to provide a mobile phone number, first name, and last name to sign up. You will need to provide your pick up and drop off location addresses to request a ride. Credit card information is not required, but you may optionally enter a credit card if you want to pre-pay for your ride.
Alternatively, you may call (727) 540-1900 to request a ride over the phone with one of our customer service agents.
6. Can I use my UPASS ID, Veterans Pass, TD Pass, or Flamingo Fares card/app to ride Snapper?
Yes! All Snapper vehicles are equipped with the same Flamingo fare card readers as PSTA buses. When booking a Snapper, select "Cash" and present the driver with your UPASS ID or tap your Flamingo card when boarding.
7. Can I travel between two locations in the Clearwater zone and the Safety Harbor zone?
No, travel is only permitted between a zone and a transfer location. When riding from Safety Harbor, you can request a ride to Countryside Mall. When riding from Clearwater, you can request a ride either to Park Street terminal or Countryside Mall.
8. Where is the pick up/drop off location at Countryside Mall?
You can request a Snapper pick up/drop off to any location within the mall.
