PSTA invites you to experience Real Time Bus Information. The system works with GPS technology and allows PSTA to pinpoint each vehicles exact location at all times. This means we can provide reliable, real-time departure information to passengers.
Regular Cash Fare

Have exact change ready (dollar bills or coins, pennies not accepted). A fare is required for each bus you board. Cash is NOT accepted onboard the SunRunner, but is accepted on all other PSTA routes.

Valid for:
Senior 65+
Disabled (with proper ID)
College Students (USF, SPC, and PTC ride FREE with student ID)
Youth age 9-18 (Pinellas County public school students ride FREE with student ID)
ID Required: Adult Student ID, PSTA Senior/Disabled Photo ID, HART Senior/Disabled Photo ID, PCPT Senior/Disabled Photo ID, Government-issued Photo ID (showing age as of 65 years or older), or Medicare Card. To obtain a PSTA Senior/Disabled Photo ID, present proof of age 65 years or older and/or complete an application at a PSTA Customer Service Center.
Reduced Fares are available when paying with:
Flamingo Fares: present your ID at any PSTA Customer Service Center to have your reduced fare added to your account. The validator will automatically charge your discounted fare each time you board.
Cash: Have your ID and exact change ready at boarding (dollar bills or coins, pennies not accepted). A fare is required for each bus you board. Cash is NOT accepted onboard the SunRunner, but is accepted on all other PSTA routes.
At this time reduced fares are not available with contactless payments (credit card, debit card, smartphone, smartwatch)
Regular Fare: Flamingo Fares and Tap-to-Pay

$5 maximum per day
$70 maximum per calendar month
EFFECTIVE 10/1/2024: $85 monthly maximum per calendar month. No changes to single ride or daily maximum.
By using the Flamingo Fares card or app, riders will always take advantage of the lowest possible fare, as well as unique benefits such as fare capping. With this benefit, Flamingo Fares keeps track of your fare usage—you will never pay more than the daily maximum in a single service day, or the monthly maximum in a calendar month.
Reduced Fare: Flamingo Fares and Tap-to-Pay
$1.10 single ride
$2.50 maximum per day
$35 maximum per calendar month
EFFECTIVE 10/1/2024: $42.50 monthly maximum per calendar month. No changes to single ride or daily maximum.
Reduced Fare riders are eligible for fare capping benefits through Flamingo Fares. To have your discount added to your account or to your credit/debit card, please visit a PSTA Customer Service Center to present valid ID. Once registered appropriately, your discount is automatic every time you tap or scan to board. Limit of 3 registered credit/debit cards per customer.

Unlimited rides within a single service day for up to four riders. This option is exclusively available through the Flamingo Fares app.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO MONTHLY MAXIMUM FARE:
Starting October 1, 2024, the monthly maximum fare on PSTA fixed route services will increase from $70 to $85 for regular fares, and from $35 to $42.50 for reduced fares. Monthly maximum fares are available through use of a Flamingo Fares card, Flamingo Fares app, or by using a credit/debit card when boarding the bus.
As always, use the same payment method every time you board to get the best value. Fare maximums are tracked by payment method, and cannot be tracked across multiple cards or accounts.
Flamingo Fares
By using Flamingo Fares, you'll always get the best possible fare, with both maximum daily and monthly fares.
Flamingo Fares App: Available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for free download. Easily create and reload your account directly from the app!
Flamingo Fares Card: Available for purchase at any PSTA Customer Service Center. Flamingo Fares cards can be registered at FlamingoFares.com. Once registered, you can reload your card online or at any PSTA Customer Service Center.
Tap-to-Pay: Credit, Debit, and Digital Wallets
Simply tap your payment and ride! By using these payment methods, you'll take advantage of a daily maximum fare—just remember to tap the same payment method every time you ride
- RFID-enabled credit, debit, and prepaid debit cards
- We currently do not accept American Express cards
- Apple Pay on your iPhone or Apple Watch
- Google Pay on your Android phone or smartwatch
Is your card tap-enabled? Look for the symbol on your card that resembles a sideways Wi-Fi symbol.
If you are eligible for reduced fares (seniors, disabled customers, students) please visit a PSTA Customer Service Center to have your credit or debit card registered with your discount. Limit of 3 reduced-fare registered cards per customer.
Cash
You may pay your fare with exact change, no pennies. You will pay the full fare with every boarding, and will not be able to take advantage of maximum daily or monthly fares.
Please note that cash is NOT accepted on the SunRunner under any circumstances. Cash is accepted on all other routes.
Flamingo Limited Use Cards
Limited use cards are one-time used fare payment. They cannot be reloaded.
1 Ride Card |
Can only be used for 1 ride. Once tapped the card is no longer valid. |
Daily Card |
Are valid for a full day of service. After the first tap, the card will no longer be valid at the end of the service day. |
PSTA will no longer sell and accept Magstripe cards also called “Go cards” as a form of payment from January 02, 2024. Riders will be allowed to swap out valid Magstripe cards of equal value with Limited Use cards between November 6th 2023 to January 15th 2024. Magstripes will not be allowed to be swapped after January 15th 2024. Any Magstripe card valued over $5.00 will be swapped for an extended-use Flamingo card at no additional cost.
