PSTA and The Foundation for a Healthy St. Pete Partner to Host Community Workshop Ahead of Bus Network Redesign

 

 

St. Petersburg, FL—The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA), in partnership with The Foundation for a Healthy St. Pete, is hosting a Community Provider Workshop to help local organizations prepare for the launch of the new Connected Community Bus Network (CCBN) and Spark, PSTA’s new premium service line along 34th Street South. 

 

This free event will provide valuable tools and resources for community organizations, healthcare providers, and service agencies to help their clients, patients, and patrons navigate the county’s new transit network.

When: Friday, October 10th 11:15 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

Where: The Foundation for a Healthy St. Pete  

2333 34th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL 33711

Learning Objectives Include: 

 

  • Explore the New Network: Learn about the complete bus network redesign launching this fall across Pinellas County, including the new Spark, a high-frequency route along 34th Street South. 
  • Master TransitApp: Hear directly from PSTA’s Planning Team on how to download and use TransitApp to plan trips, view real-time bus arrivals, and help clients, patients, and community members confidently navigate the system. 
  • Understand Mobility Programs: The PSTA Mobility Team will share details about programs serving seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those with limited transportation options — including Transportation Disadvantage (TD), Access, and UPass programs. 
  • Collaborate with PSTA Outreach: Learn how to schedule presentations, request materials, and work with the PSTA Outreach Team to best serve your community. 

 

About the Connected Community Bus Network (CCBN) 

 

CCBN represents a complete reimagining of how public transit serves Pinellas County. Developed through extensive community engagement, the plan ensures that service improvements align with the needs of residents, workers, and visitors. PSTA operates 220 vehicles across 46 routes and offers specialized programs such as TD and PSTA Access, along with partnerships like the UPass Program, Emergency Ride Home (ERH), and the Feeding Tampa Bay Initiative, connecting riders to essential services and resources. 

 

About Spark:

 

Launching on October 27th, Spark is PSTA’s new high-frequency service line designed to connect riders quickly and efficiently along 34th Street South (US 19). Spark will provide direct access between students, neighborhoods, and Grand Central Station, with seamless connections to routes serving northern Pinellas County, Downtown St. Petersburg, and St. Pete Beach via the SunRunner.
