New Activities Confirmed For Halloween On Central Event

St. Petersburg, FLA – New activities have been confirmed for St. Petersburg’s largest open-air event, Halloween on Central, hosted by Car–Free St. Pete, in partnership with the Grand Central District, EDGE District, Open Streets St. Pete, and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA). Attendees can stroll and roll along nearly two miles of the city, from Dr. MLK Jr. (9th) Street to 31st Street, and experience the heart of the Sunshine City from a unique perspective that will allow them to rediscover their favorite local businesses and interact with the community in fun, healthy ways – without worrying about car traffic.

Event Activities include:

  • Event-wide Trick or Treating, Halloween Games, Contests, Live Music, Dancing Lessons and More at Participating Businesses
  • Event T-Shirt & Trick or Treat Bag Giveaways

  • Zombie Zone featuring nearby Neighborhood Associations

  • Love Market hosted by Love Food Central

“As our city grows, it’s critical that we expand our mobility choices and make it easier to get around St. Pete without a car,” said Gina Driscoll, St. Petersburg City Council Vice-Chair/District 6. “This event is a fantastic way to celebrate our progress and demonstrate how we can create a better St. Pete by embracing car-free options.”

“As the owner of two businesses in the Grand Central District of Central Avenue, I am looking forward to St. Pete's biggest Car-Free event ever - Halloween on Central,” said Jeff Schorr, owner of Craftsman House Gallery, Truffula Eco Boutique, and Car-Free St. Pete Committee Member. “It's exciting to bring the community together and show them how easy and enjoyable it is to travel St. Petersburg's ‘Main Street’ by foot, bike, scooter, and the Central Avenue Trolley.”

PSTA will be increasing service on the Central Avenue Trolley and redirecting the route to 1st Ave N and S, servicing the bus stops on those roads every 15 minutes. Anyone dressed in Halloween costume rides for free during the event.
